Fred has over twenty-five years of employee benefits and insurance experience, working primarily with large employer groups. His experience includes working in both the insurance carrier and
agency setting. Fred has considerable experience working with school district health insurance consortiums and other large employers utilizing alternative funding vehicles. Fred specializes in the design, implementation, communication and administration of all types of benefit plans.
Fred started his career with Dun & Bradstreet in 1983 as a Credit Analyst. Responsibilities included evaluating commercial companies and assigning credit ratings. In 1992 Fred started with BlueCross BlueShield of Central NY, in Syracuse, as an Account Executive. There he handled a book of business consisting of large groups and key accounts including school consortiums. Fred moved to Albany in 1994 and took a position with Community Health Plan as a National Account Manager. He was responsible for handling a book of National Accounts consisting primarily of self-insured accounts. He moved to BlueShield of Northeastern NY in 1995 to become the Team Leader of Account Management. Fred moved to Empire BlueCross in 1996 to become manager of Empire’s existing large book of business. In 2008, Fred left Empire BlueCross and joined a boutique benefits consulting firm.
